About us

Al Tayr Ensemble was founded at the end of 2023. Made up of performers and researchers specialising in Early Music and Ethnomusicology, its members bring together diverse musical traditions with an in-depth study of texts and written sources from the past to create their performances.

In recent years the ensemble has been invited to festivals such as Bloomington Early Music (USA), the Festival de Música Antigua de Granada, the Festival Renaixement and MHA in Valencia, Early Music Morella (Castellón), the Festival de Música Antigua y Medieval de Alarcos (Ciudad Real) and the Festival de Música Antiga dels Pirineus.

It has also performed at venues as emblematic as the Museo Arqueológico Nacional in Madrid, the Museu d’Història dels Jueus in Girona, the Sinagoga del Tránsito in Toledo and the CAB in Burgos.

In 2026 the ensemble consolidated its work with its first album, El viaje de Abendino, released in mid-July. It is currently working on new projects and formats.
